It's been a while since I actively checked or used my DeviantArt-profile.
A lot of time and energy was spent on surviving as a teacher after two years of absence.
Nonetheless I did create about 4 or 5 finished drawings and started painting again on canvas. More on that will be posted when finished.
I also discovered and started writing. I'm using the amazing and great platform known as Medium. You can find my profile by surfing to http://www.helenagwyn.be.
For now I've been writing in my native language Flemish or Dutch, but a few English posts and translations will be posted in the future as well to broaden my audience of possible reader

Reflection on the name change

Hi all
I wanted to reflect on the recent name change.
The past two years I've been coming to terms with myself apparently being transgender. A rather rough process of accepting your inner desires, letting go of your old 'created' self and growing into your new but yet invisible true self.
Currently I'm going through some physical and emotional changes due to HRT, and two days ago I sent in the official papers for my name change. Normally my new name should be on my passport by the summer, but family and friends already started calling me by my new 'self-chosen' name, so it felt right to start changing my online presence as well.
